In the world of casino gaming, the number of games is increasing at a rapid rate. This growth is spurred by digitization, which has increased the speed of game innovation. The casino industry is also expanding to meet the needs of new markets and demographics. The casino industry has made massive investments in security to prevent any kind of fraud and cheating.

In addition to physical security, casinos also have elaborate surveillance systems to monitor the casino floor. Cameras on every table, doorway and window allow security personnel to keep a watchful eye on patrons and the games themselves. These video feeds can be recorded and reviewed later if any suspicious activity is spotted. Unlike real casinos, casino games such as blackjack and roulette are computerized. Computer chips inside the machines determine the payouts.

Electronic casino games must be connected to a central monitoring system operated by the Department. This system must enable the Department to audit the revenues and distributions made by each terminal in real time. In addition, the system must collect the following information from the electronic gaming terminals: the number of people who played the game and the amounts they wagered. It shall also record information about door openings, power failures, remote activation, and any other information required by Board regulations.

The games found in a casino are categorized in four general categories. Table games include all card and dice games. Some casinos have a special focus on creating innovative games and inventing new versions of old ones. Some games are even regulated by state laws.
